I struggled which month to call this because it’s honestly been since February that I last gave a book review update. I’ve read some good ones however, with having a new baby in the mix plus a toddler (at 3 years old, do we still call him a toddler?? He feels more like a three-nager some times), it has been hard for me to actually sit down and write a blog post, much less a book review.
BUT all of that is to say: I realize this is delayed but here we are.
First up, we have:
“Untamed” by Glennon Doyle
There is a lot of hype around this book. And I mean a lot. If you listen to any popular podcasts, you’ll most likely see Glennon Doyle pop up as a featured guest. My sister-in-law sent this to me as a “new baby present” and it came at the most perfect time. She and I share so many similar views on personal growth & she knew I would like this read. And she was right. Now, before I rave about it, I also want to say that it can also be a bit “preachy” at times. So take that for what it’s worth. Remember that it is what you take from it. Does that make sense? Not everything did I agree with. Glennon shares a lot of personal views. A lot. And some of them I don’t agree with. But some of them really spoke to me…like really spoke to me. In a highlight, mark the page, even take a picture to later reference kind of way. But that’s just me.
This book gave me so much perspective. So much so that I’ve referenced it in my life, several times in fact. I’ll give it a 3 out of 5. Why? Because it’s different from other books that I typically read but anything that gives a refreshing perspective is a win in my book. Ha, see what I did there?
