Before I start, I should note that I’ve been very lucky this time around with not having a ton of skin issues. Generally speaking, my first pregnancy was all break outs along my jawline and hairline (oy!) which drove me crazy. This time around was much smoother sailing and I attribute it to the fact that months before getting pregnant, I was already using cleaner skincare products as a way of life. Yay for nontoxic products!
One of the biggest changes after finding out I was pregnant was I dropped my retinol products. I was a big fan and longtime user of Sunday Riley Luna Retinol Sleeping Oil but dropped it like it was hot the second I saw that positive test.
My first pregnancy wrecked havoc on my skin, mostly because I wasn’t using great products that worked for me. This time around, I knew what to expect and had a much easier time adjusting my skin despite my hormones playing tricks on me.
So onto the good stuff… here is what I’ve been using and loving!
Young Living Mirah Cleansing Oil: First step is to remove all makeup! I apply this to a dry face, rub in and rinse. I love how well this removes makeup and leaves my face feeling clean. It also works like a charm to get eye makeup off so I haven’t needed any makeup wipes!
Drunk Elephant Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser: I subscribe to the double cleansing technique (read more here) and will apply this to my face after the Mirah Cleansing oil to ensure I have removed all makeup, dirt, etc before applying any skincare products. This cleanser is great for all skin types.
Indie Lee CoQ-10 Toner: Before I go into this specific product, you should know I fell in love with all Indie Lee products during my pregnancy. They feel, smell and look great. Plus they’re all totally clean. This toner in particular will forever be in my regimen. I use it morning and night and love how my skin feels after applying.
Indie Lee Stem Cell Serum: My all-time favorite pregnancy & nursing-safe serum and just general clean beauty product. A little goes a long way here and this stuff is AH-mazing. It leaves your skin feeling hydrated and prepped.
Indie Lee Squalane Facial Oil (daytime) & Indie Lee Overnight Facial Oil (nighttime): I’m grouping these together because I use both daily before applying moisturizer. I especially love the nighttime oil as it smells like lavender and has vitamin c in it which is a win. I always thought using an oil in addition to moisturizer would leave my skin feeling greasy or would be too heavy but these two proved me wrong.
LaMer Moisturizing Soft Cream : this is the holy grail of moisturizers, ladies. It is definitely pricey but worth it. Also, I should preface this with saying it may not be “clean” but I honestly can’t live without it. Go with the soft cream over the creme de la mer moisturizer (in my opinion) as the soft cream leaves your skin feeling hydrated & brightened without feeling heavy.
LaMer Eye Concentrate : Another holy grail product that I’ve come to live by because it just works, feels amazing, and I’m hooked. Again, pricey, but one bottle lasts forever and you won’t regret it.
